JG Summit Petrochemicals Group highlights the positive attributes of plastics in PackPrintPlas Philippines 2015. The marketing team capitalizes on this opportunity as another venue to advance its advocacy of educating the general public about the many benefits of plastics and plastic products. Students from Adamson University’s College of Engineering and other visitors at the show attended the talk on the 3rd day, November 7.
Examples of how plastics save lives and energy, reduce food waste, conserve water, protect livelihood and help agriculture were enumerated to enlighten the audience about the advantages of plastics. The concepts of carbon footprint and life cycle assessment as tools to measure a product’s global warming contribution (GWC) were also introduced. The GWC of a plastic bag, a paper bag and a cotton bag were presented to guide the audience in choosing the environmentally-responsible option among the three.
PackPrintPlas Philippines 2015 is the largest machinery and technology show in the country. It is organized by Global-Link MP Events International Inc. and co-organized by the Philippine Plastics Industry Association, the Packaging Institute of the Philippines and the Philippine Center for Print Excellence Foundation Inc.
