JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation (JGSPC) put the spotlight on polyethylene (PE) pipes during the Virtual 42nd Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) National Convention held on May 27 and 28, 2021.
JGSPC joined the event as an exhibitor to promote PE pipes to PAWD members. PAWD is the umbrella organization of water districts in the Philippines with 526 active members from across the country.
This year’s convention was held online amid the COVID-19 pandemic, featuring various topics on governance, non-revenue water and wastewater management, demand management and capacity building among others. The event featured virtual exhibits by organizations such as major utilities, solution providers and material suppliers including JGSPC.
The advantages of PE pipes were showcased in JGSPC’s virtual booth, highlighting them as a more sustainable alternative to other piping materials.
On the convention’s second day, May 28, JGSPC Market and Product Development Division’s Froilan Dimabuyu and Jumarie Belleza presented a 15-minute talk entitled, “Polyethylene (PE) Pipes for a Sustainable Water Future” to further elaborate on the advantages of PE pipes, and how they help reduce water leaks and contribute to sustainability.
Certified EVALENE® HDPE resins for pressure pipes – the EVALENE® HP10441 (PE 80) and HP06491 (PE 100) – were center stage in the presentation, along with JGSPC’s upcoming high-performance high-density polyethylene pipe resins.
In 2022, JGSPC will start offering PE 100 LS (Low Sag) resin for large diameter pipes that require excellent sag resistance, PE 100 RC (Resistant to Cracking) resin for crack and scratch resistant pipes that enable installation cost savings through trenchless installation and sandless bedding, and PE RT (Raised Temperature) resin for hot and cold water pipes.
